Timeless Designs :
Mademoiselle Sophie’s aim is not to offer “fast” or “disposable” fashion. On the contrary, the collections on offer are timeless classic pieces which we hope will be “recycled” by being handed down to other little ones rather than being added to the landfields.
Some of the pieces are reversible just choose print or plain to suit the mood of the little ones!
Manufacturing :
All the garments are made in a workshop in Bangalore, Southern India, by Rekha and her small team of tailors. Her workshop is airy and miles away from a sweatshop!
Apart from offering fair wages, flexible working hours, the tailors are offered an extra bonus on a monthly basis for good attendance. They are also provided medical help in case of sickness, festival bonuses and emergency advances if / when required.
Mademoiselle Sophie is committed to pay fair prices for the production of each garment, so that Rekha can keep the high standards that are already in place.
Fabrics :
The fabrics used are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified, which is the highest organic certification available worldwide.
Organic fabrics are produced from the cotton which is grown without using any harmful pesticides which cause great damage to the health of the farmer and pollute the environment. The organic fabrics do not contain any toxic residue that may inadvertently become hazardous to human health.
Buttons :
The buttons are made out of coconut shell.
Dyes :
The fabrics have been dyed with low-impact dyes, which are kinder on the skin.
Printing Materials :
All paper items used are made with recycled paper.
